PITAMBARA ENGLISH SCHOOL

"Pitambara English School" is a reservoir of values where all types of learning of human excellence are rendered with full accomplishment. This repository of knowledge stands in all its glory at Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi near Lainingthou Nongshaba, Imphal West with its blossoming children in a pollution free environment away from the maddening crowd of the city. It was established in the year 2008 with a view to conveying a practical and unique education thereby ensuring, psychological and intellectual development of children. The captivating campus with lush green lawns and luxuriant flower beds is aesthetically appealing to the young minds to explore and realize their full potential. The presence of the bewitching bowers with singing birds around lends an air of genuine serenity to its surrounding. The school has adopted a new approach ideally suited to ultra modern edutainment. Being an integrated school, it is open to all sections / categories without any differentiation of caste and creed and is solely intended for the edification of children in particular to achieve efflorescence. The school along with its well qualified and experienced faculties is imparting knowledge to promote an ideal academic environment. Pitambara English School which is affiliated to the Board of Secondary Education Manipur has been in the vanguard of academic progress since 2008. This school was established by Late G.A. Dhabali Sharma (1927-2014) founder chairman of the school on the name of his father, Late G.A. Pitamabara (Kanhai) Sharma with the dream to pursue and promote academic excellence. It is our commitment that each and every student of this school is provided with the educational environment in regard to academic performance within the classroom as well as participation in co-scholastic areas to achieves his / her individual success in life. I believe the greatest benefit of being an educator is the opportunity to see the students successfully develop their potential and it has been inspiring to see the work of our community making a difference. In the materialistic era of cut throat competition, challenges, fast changing, values, an ideal institution is the only hope where a child can maintain his prime intake with the ever changing time and society, now the responsibility of school and education has become manifold. It is my proud privilege to be the Head Mistress of Pitambara English School, equipped with all in terms of wonderful infrastructure, fabulous faculty and all facilities for imparting good education to the aspiring students. Being the pioneer in the field of education, this institution has always tried its level best to transform the student’s energy into innovative directions. FROM THE DESK OF PRINCIPAL (FOUNDER)

Late Dr. Guruaribam Binodkumar Sharma was born on the 22nd October, 1948 at Brahmapur Guruaribam Leikai, Imphal East District, Manipur. He was the only child of Shri Guruaribam Dhabali Sharma and Guruaribam Tondonmacha Devi. Dr. G.B. Sharma had his primary education from Dharmalaya ME School. Brahampur then joined Ram Lal Paul High School and completed Matriculation Examination in the year 1964. He passed PUSc from Manipur College, Imphal and completed Pre-Medical Course from Punjab University and joined Guwahati Medical College for MBBS Course. He got married with Laimayum Memcha Devi (D/O of Late L. Lalitamadhop Sharma of Nagamapal Khwai Brahampur Leikai) in the year 1969. After completing MBBS degree from the Guwahati University. He joined State Health Service, Manipur as Assistant Surgeon Grade-I on 27/09/1975 at General Hospital, Lamphel. In 1987 he passed MD (TB & Chest Diseases) from Varansi Hindu University. He also had WHO Fellowship on TB from USA. Late Dr. Sharma worked extensively in the State Health Services in various capacities viz. as a Medical Officer, General Hospital, PHSC Sagolband Lamkhai, PHC Mao and Medial Officer i/c. Central Medical Store, Medical Directorate, Manipur before joining Post Graduate Course in Varanasi Hindu Chingmeirong, Imphal and then became State TB Officer / State Programme Officer RNTCP Manipur for a long time. Besides, he also worked as Project Director, Manipur State AIDS Control Society and made significant contributions in reducing the impact of HIV / AIDS in the state. During the period he had also travelled extensively in oriental countries viz. Thailand, Japan, Myanmar etc. carrying the message of HIV impact mitigation. He retired as Additional Director of Health Service, Manipur in June, 2006. After retirement from Government service, considering his qualification and professional experience he was inducted to Tripura Medical College as Head of TB & Chest Diseases Department and worked in the capacity for almost three years. He was also Founder of Pitambara English School, Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi. He imparts a spiritual richness, transparency in thought and action through value education. He left the heavenly abode on the morning of the 1st December, 2010 leaving behind his wife, thee sons a daughter, three daughter-in-laws, three grandsons and four granddaughters.

FROM THE DESK OF CHAIRMAN

I once cherished a dream to set up an educational institute where children should themselves in varied fields. The intriguing thought, however, had remained unfulfilled for many a moon. It seemed that I was simply holding a dream catcher in some dreamland. Nevertheless, by the grace of God, the moment of blessed calm when my grown up grandsons, who have always, been guarding my hope and interest, rose to the occasion. Today my dream has come true. Pitambara was my idolized Guru whom my mother had borne me. But fate had ordained that he would cradle me in his arms again nor see rise to meteoric career as he was destined to .leave us for his heavenly abode when I was a little toddler. The very thought of establishing a school stemmed from my past childhood ordeal I had been through. The childhood yearning for school is still embedded in the inmost recess of my heart and I hope young will be able to quench their thirst for knowledge at Pitambara English School. Also, I hope our committed teachers and educators nourish the talents of our children by investing in education so much so that there shall not be a single little one who is starved of intellectual nourishment, moral and traditional values the hallmark of a unique school.
